Foreign Ministry: the increased threat of terrorism requires a collective response from BRICS

The recently increased threat of terrorism and challenges in the information space mean that the BRICS member countries should look for collective responses. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov when speaking at the opening of the BRICS Academic Forum. “The threat of terrorism, which has become aggravated recently, as well as the growing challenges in the information space, are stimulating BRICS members to search for collective answers, including within the framework of the specialized mechanisms created in this area,” TASS quotes the diplomat as saying. Russia will preside over BRICS in 2024. As part of the chairmanship, about 250 events are planned, the central one of which will be the summit planned for October in the city of Kazan.
