181 terrorist attacks were prevented in the SCO space last year

The intelligence services of the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization prevented 181 terrorist attacks last year, a Podrobno.uz correspondent reports.

Ruslan Mirzaev, director of the executive committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorism Structure, shared this while speaking at a meeting of the Chairmen of the Supreme Courts of the countries included in the organization.

Also, according to him, 214 foreign fighters, 1,185 members and supporters of foreign terrorist organizations were detained and the activities of 95 cells of terrorist organizations were stopped.

In addition, the intelligence services of member countries uncovered 13 financing channels and 26 illegal migration channels that were used for terrorist and extremist purposes.

Besides, 14 channels of illegal trafficking in weapons and ammunition were identified,  and 1,589 firearms, 777 explosive devices, 188 kilograms of explosives and more than 660 tons of drugs were seized.
