A major terrorist attack thwarted in the UK

Two men in the United Kingdom have been charged with plotting a major terrorist attack inspired by the crimes of terrorists belonging to the “Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant.”

Walid Saadaoui, 36, and Amar Hussein, 50, planned to use automatic firearms to kill as many members of the Jewish community, law enforcement officers and military personnel as possible. This is what prosecutors claimed at Westminster Magistrates' Court. The prosecutor's office believes that 35-year-old Bilel Saadaoui knew about the preparation of the terrorist attack and even started to prepare for the expected death of his brother. The defense lawyer insists that Bilel was not privy to his brother's plans.

The court ordered the accused persons to be held without bail pending further trial.
