KNB: a person suspected of promoting terrorism in West Kazakhstan region detained

A person suspected of promoting terrorism was detained in the West Kazakhstan region, Tengrinews.kz reports with reference to the National Security Committee.

According to the National Security Committee, on May 22, the Committee, with the coordination of the prosecutor’s office and the assistance of the police, detained a resident of the West Kazakhstan region. He is suspected of promoting terrorism.

“During the investigation, material evidence was collected. A pre-trial investigation is underway under Part 2 of Article 256 of the Criminal Code. The detainee was previously convicted of committing grave crimes of general nature,” the statement says.
