Kabulov announced the prospects for cooperation with Afghanistan under the CSTO
Russia does not rule out cooperation between the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and Afghanistan; it can be promising. This was stated at a briefing by the special representative of the Russian President for Afghanistan and Director of the Second Asian Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry Zamir Kabulov.
“So far there has been no such cooperation. But hypothetically I do not rule it out, since the Taliban (the Taliban movement is banned in the Russian Federation - TASS) have the same attitude towards the fight against both international terrorism and drug crime. On this basis, it is quite possible "- said the diplomat, commenting on the prospect of cooperation between Afghanistan and the CSTO.
Earlier, Kabulov said that Russia intends to expand cooperation with the Taliban movement ruling in Afghanistan, including in the field of combating terrorism and strengthening law enforcement agencies.
