Kyrgyzstan's intelligence service detains a suspect in plotting terrorist attacks

Staff members of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic detained a Kyrgyzstani native, someone A.I.I., wanted for committing terrorist and separatist crimes, reports with reference to the press service of the State Committee for National Security.


According to the intelligence service, the detainee and his accomplices fr om among the residents of the Osh region after the events of 2010 planned to commit terrorist attacks on the territory of Kyrgyzstan. For these purposes, they purchased firearms and explosives.


“In 2011, the State Committee for National Security discovered a cache of weapons and explosives, after which two of A.I.I.’s accomplices were detained and convicted. The other four members of the criminal group, including the detainee, managed to escape. Two of the four men fled to Syria, wh ere they were eliminated during hostilities on the side of a foreign terrorist organization,” the committee shared.
