FSB and the Russian Guard of Karelia detained terrorism suspects

Officers of Karelian FSB Department, with the support of special forces of the Russian Guard of the Republic of Karelia, detained a Russian citizen and immigrants from Central Asia suspected of financing terrorism.

Special operations took place in the Moscow, Leningrad, Amur, Samara, Sverdlovsk, Rostov, Novosibirsk regions and Tatarstan, the press service of the Russian Guard of Karelia said.

It was established that the detainees transferred money from a bank card to a bank account controlled by a foreign terrorist organization.

The facts of their correspondence on social networks and instant messengers with persons involved in the activities of an international terrorist organization were confirmed.

Criminal cases were initiated. The Petrozavodsk City Court chose to take all accused in custody, the press service of the Russian Guard added.
