Media: Terrorist attacks kill 18 people in Nigeria
At least 18 people were killed in multiple terrorist attacks in the town of Gwoza in northeastern Nigeria. This was reported by Reuters with reference to the Director-General of Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) Dr. Barkindo Saidu.
The politician said that the terrorist attack also killed women and children. At least 30 people were injured.
According to the source, suspected suicide bombers attacked several objects at once in different places of the city, killing and injuring people at a wedding, a funeral and in one of the hospitals in the village. However, it is still unknown who orchestrated this terrorist attack.
For the last 15 years, the terrorist organizations Boko Haram and the breakaway Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP, part of the Islamic State organization, recognized as terrorist and banned in Russia) have been operating in Borno State.
At the beginning of February 2024, at least 30 people died due to a militant attack in Nigeria, Izvestia reports.
