The coach of the Russian youth wrestling team detained in connection with terrorism
Officers of the Investigative Committee of Russia detained the coach of the country's youth freestyle wrestling team Alisheri Ismatzoda. He is suspected of facilitating terrorist activities.
Ismatzoda is charged under the article “Inducement, Recruitment or Other Involvement of a Person in Terrorist Activities,” a source in law enforcement agencies said, without providing details. The investigation asks the court to detain the coach.
Alisheri Ismatzoda graduated from the Russian State University of Physical Education and Sports in 2015. He is a Master of Sports of Russia in freestyle wrestling and candidate Master of Sports in Greco-Roman wrestling.
Previously, he worked as the senior coach of the Moscow freestyle wrestling team, and then became the senior coach of the Russian women's freestyle wrestling team. Most recently, he was the acting coach of the Russian men's youth team.
