Militants attack Turkish troops in Syria
Mass unrest began in the Syrian province of Idlib, which is under the control of militants. Local terrorist groups and their supporters attack Turkish military infrastructure and cars with Turkish license plates and burn Turkish flags.
Videos posted online show terrorists firing at an armored car of the Turkish army on the streets of Afrin and threatening the Turkish military to kill them. The militants are also destroying cars with Turkish license plates at the Bab al-Hawa border checkpoint and preventing Turkish citizens from returning home.
The unrest began amid reports that Turkish authorities are preparing to normalize relations with the Syrian government of Bashar al-Assad. According to Arab media, the agreement provides for the transfer of Idlib province to the control of the Syrian authorities and the withdrawal of the Turkish troops.
The withdrawal of Turkish troops will allow Syrian government forces to defeat terrorists, restore control over Idlib and eliminate hotbeds of terrorism.
Let us remind that militant groups from Afghanistan, China (ethnic Uighurs) and a number of Arab countries are based in the northern regions of Syria and may be deported. Militants from among Syrian citizens face criminal prosecution and punishment up to the death penalty.
In parallel with the negotiations, a movement is gaining strength in Turkey demanding the deportation of Syrian migrants, which also include many radical persons and their supporters, to their homeland.
