An extremist criminal tried to recruit prisoners in the Altai Territory
A man born in 1984, while serving a sentence in one of the correctional institutions in the Altai Territory, was preaching extremist ideology.
The person began to actively promote the postulates of Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami and Islamic State terrorist organizations that are banned in Russia.
In particular, the man used to hold meetings to discuss religious topics. The “preacher” was sharing ideological basics of terrorist organizations, justifying the killing of so-called “infidels” to his audience.
He was convincing his audience of the righteousness, the permissibility of violence and terror around the world, and was inciting his potential followers to take active actions of a violent nature, including murder, forceful imprisonment, and bloodshed under the auspices of foreign terrorist organizations. He glorified followers of proscribed organisations and cited the actions of suicide bombers as role models.
As a result, the court found the citizen guilty and sentenced him to fifteen years in prison.
