Terrorists detained in Iran on the eve of the second round of elections

Iranian law enforcement officials detained a group of eight terrorists on the eve of the second round of the country's presidential elections. This was announced by the head of the election headquarters of the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, Reza Sharifi.

“On the evening before the elections, a group of eight terrorists was detained with a large amount of weapons and explosives found in their possession,” Sharifi said, as quoted by IRNA. He noted that the terrorists were detained before "any action was taken."

As Sharifi pointed out, the detained members of the terrorist group “were connected with foreign countries” and were preparing explosions in different parts of the province.
