The person detained for preparing a terrorist attack in Adygea confessed to IS links
The FSB published a video of the testimony of the man who had been detained for plotting an attack on an Orthodox church in Maykop.
In the video, the detainee said that he planned to “climb over the fence and set fire to the church.” He also stated that he watched a video of the Islamic State (terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation) and followed their instructions.
They found a flag of the banned organization in the detainee’s possession. He admitted that he was going to stab the church security guard. From the video it is clear that the plan was to attack the Holy Assumption Cathedral in Maykop.
Earlier, the FSB reported the detention of a native of one of the Central Asian countries in the capital of Adygea for planning an attack on an Orthodox church. A case has been opened under an article on terrorist attack.
