French PNAT anti-terrorism prosecutors office has arrested a man who planned to carry out a terrorist attack during the Olympic Games in Paris, France 3 reports.

The arrest of an 18-year-old suspect took place on Tuesday in the Gironde department in southwestern France.

It is noted that the young man announced on social media his intentions to “commit violent attacks” during the Games. 

Earlier in July, a 20-year-old man was arrested in France for threatening to attack participants in the Olympic torch relay.

The Olympic Games will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11.
