In Belgium, seven people were arrested in the course of an operation to identify a terrorist group. "We have no details about the locations or targets at the moment, but what we have found suggests that an attack is being prepared," said prosecutor Arnaud d'Oultremont, quoted by French media.

The federal prosecutor's office also reported that searches were carried out at 14 locations in the areas of Antwerp, Sering, Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, Menen, Bourg-Leopold, Liege, Courtrai, Ghent and Zonhoven. Seven people were detained "for questioning," the Belgian newspaper Le Soir stated. The investigating judge in charge of the case "will later decide whether to issue an arrest warrant for them." The targets of the planned attack are still unknown.
