A terrorist wanted by Interpol was detained in Moscow
In Moscow, police officers detained a member of Jabhat al-Nusra (terrorist group banned in Russia) who was wanted by Interpol, during a document check. This was reported by law enforcement agencies.
“A man was stopped on Michurinsky Prospekt for a document check. During the examination of the documents, it turned out that he was a Jabhat al-Nusra militant wanted by Interpol. The man was detained,” a source from the authorities told TASS.
The detainee turned out to be a 37-year-old citizen of Azerbaijan, who is wanted at the request of Baku. He is accused of creating an armed group and organizing a criminal community in his homeland. According to law enforcement agencies, the man went to Syria in 2013 and joined the militants. In 2019, an international arrest warrant was issued against him.
