Three local residents were detained in Kaspiysk for preparing attacks on an Orthodox church and security forces.

The FSB, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, detained three local residents in Kaspiysk, Dagestan, who were planning to commit terrorist attacks in the republic. According to the agency, the detainees were planning to blow up the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in Kaspiysk and attack law enforcement officers. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

Criminal cases have been opened, including under the article "Preparation for a Terrorist Attack." The detainees confessed. They are "adherents of a foreign terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation," the FSB notes.
