Kyrgyz special services detain a man who preparing a terrorist attack in one of the CIS countries

The Kyrgyz special services have detained a member of a foreign terrorist organization (FTO) who was plotting a terrorist attack in one of the CIS countries. This was reported by the press service of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) of the republic.

“In the course of the counter-terrorism measures, SCNS officers detained a member of an international terrorist organization, a citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic, someone N.R., suspected of preparing a terrorist attack in one of the CIS countries as part of an underground terrorist group, and placed in him a pre-trial detention facility,” the statement said.
 
All of the detainee’s actions were coordinated through hidden Telegram accounts by emissaries of one of the terrorist organizations. According to the SCNS, he swore allegiance to the leader of the FTO before attempting to commit the crime. As part of the criminal case initiated on this fact, the special services are looking into other members of the group.

It must be reminded that at the beginning of this month, a cell of At-Takfir Wal-Hijra international religious association, whose activities are recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and are prohibited, was discovered in the Sabinsky and Tyulyachinsky districts of the Republic of Tatarstan. Three Tatarstan residents have been charged with organizing an extremist cell. According to investigators, they held secret meetings, studied specialized literature, and called on local residents to commit extremism, from 2021 until recently.
