The Counter Terrorism Department of Pakistan Police arrested 38 terrorists in the eastern province of Punjab in July, local police stated.

Police spokesman said on Saturday that the arrests were made during 449 intelligence-based operations conducted in various cities of the province during the month.

The arrested terrorists were members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Islamic State (IS), he said.

A large quantities of explosives, hand grenades, weapons, mobile phones, foreign and local currency were seized by the police during the operations, the spokesman indicated.
