Taliban urges West to reopen embassies in Kabul
During the meeting with foreign diplomats in Doha, Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan Mawlawi Abdul Kabir called for the resumption of work of the embassies in Kabul. This was reported by TOLOnews on August 5.
The meeting in Qatar also looked into bilateral cooperation, security issues and humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. Representatives from Britain, Canada, Italy, France, South Korea, Australia, Germany and the United States took part in the discussion.
Currently, 40 countries have diplomatic missions in Afghanistan, including China, Russia and Turkey.
