Security forces detained two religious figures who were recruiting terrorists in Tyumen region for the war in Syria. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.

The criminals were engaged in illegal activities since 2015. They managed to recruit 19 people.

“In addition, the perpetrators were urging citizens of the Russian Federation to raise money to finance members of Islamic State foreign terrorist organization, - the Investigative Committee said in a statement.

It is also known that one of the defendants posted a preaching on the Internet, which, according to the experts, contained a justification of terrorism.

Investigators are currently collecting evidence of the defendants' guilt. They will remain in custody until the trial.
