Law enforcement officers in Dagestan detained two adult men and a young man. They are suspected of involvement in terrorist attacks in the country.

The investigation established that the men were planning terrorist attacks at the Makhachkala Cathedral.

According to preliminary data, criminal cases have already been opened on involvement in the terrorist attack and illegal arms trafficking.

The suspected militants were detained on the territory of Makhachkala and Derbent. Two suspects in the crime are adults, and the third one has turned 16. The investigation indicates that the suspects are participating in an ISIS terrorist cell. In Russia, responsibility for committing terrorist attacks begins at the age of 16 in accordance with the Criminal Code.

Earlier, on June 23, a group of people carried out an armed attack on a temple and a synagogue, firing bursts of machine guns at the believers. A group of people also carried out a mass shooting in Makhachkala.
