Argentine police arrest seven people on suspicion of plotting terrorist attacks

Argentine police detained seven people for alleged links to a terrorist group, according to the country's Security Minister Patricia Bullrich.

"They were planning attacks in Mendoza. As a result of eight searches, the federal police have dismantled a dangerous organization linked to a radical Islamist terrorist group identified after threats to a Jewish journalist," she wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

According to Bullrich, the identified cell “used social media to spread hate speech and share attack plans and materials from terrorist groups such as the Islamic State and the Taliban."

As Infobae online portal reported, a large number of firearms, knives and Salafist literature were found during searches of the detainees' homes.
