The East Kazakhstan Regional Court has convicted one of the local residents for promoting terrorism. This was reported by the press service of the National Security Committee (NSC) of the republic.

It was established that this citizen was using instant messengers and social media to call on believers to participate in terrorist activities abroad.

The court sentenced him to 7 years in prison.

The sentence has entered into legal force.

According to the NSC, since the beginning of the year, 38 people have been sentenced to various terms of imprisonment for terrorism related crimes in Kazakhstan.
