VOLODIN PROPOSED TO HOLD A PARLIAMENT CONFERENCE ON COUNTERING TERRORISM IN RUSSIA

During a meeting with Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Şentop, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin discussed the possibility of holding a Conference of Speakers of Parliaments on countering terrorism and strengthening regional cooperation in the first half of 2023 in Russia.

“We discussed the holding of the Conference of Speakers of Parliaments on countering terrorism and strengthening regional cooperation in the format of Turkey, Russia, Iran, China and Pakistan in the first half of next year. The conference would allow us to discuss issues of concern to our countries, primarily on countering terrorism in the region,” Volodin said.

“In the near future we will hold consultations with counterparts in order to hold this meeting based on the principles of solidarity and participation of all parties,” he added. Volodin also reminded that the last such conference was held in Antalya before the pandemic.
