Separatist attacks in Pakistan kill more than 73 people
After militants shot civilians on the highway from Punjab to Balochistan, terrorists also attacked police stations, a military base and a railway in northwestern Pakistan, Reuters reports. A railway bridge that connected the capital of Balochistan with the rest of Pakistan was blown up, killing six people. Their bodies have not yet been identified. Railway tracks that connect Pakistan with Iran were also damaged.
In response, security services launched a counter-terrorism operation.
According to the latest data, more than 73 people have been killed as a result of the escalation of the conflict with separatists. The victims include 38 civilians, 14 military and police officers and 21 militants.
"These attacks aim to destabilize the situation in Pakistan," said Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
The separatist terrorist organization “Balochistan Liberation Army” claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Balochistan province, which borders Iran, is Pakistan's poorest province despite being rich in natural resources.
