Afghanistan rejects Pakistani statements of terrorist presence

Taliban Deputy Spokesman Hamdullah Fitrat rejected Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's claims about regional threats stemming from terrorist groups in Afghanistan on September 30.

“No foreign group is allowed to operate on Afghan soil,” he said. Earlier, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif told the UN General Assembly that terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda, ISIS and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were currently present and active in Afghanistan and posed a threat to the region and the world.

Sharif called on the Taliban to counter terrorist groups, especially those responsible for deadly attacks in Pakistan.

The Taliban, however, have repeatedly rejected Pakistan's claim that the TTP was present and active in Afghanistan.

Earlier, the UN Security Council warned in its report of collusion between al-Qaeda, the Afghan Taliban and the Pakistani Taliban on Afghan soil.
