Telegram has expanded the list of grounds for complaints about posts in Telegram channels and group chats, writes RBC.

Previously, it was possible to complain about a post for seven reasons: spam, violence, pornography and child pornography, copyright, personal data; and the “other” reason was also available.

Now the number of grounds for complaints has increased to 11: “I don’t like this”, “it does not violate the law, but must be deleted”, terrorism, illegal goods and child abuse have been added, whereas pornography and child pornography have become a single item called “pornographic materials”.

The inadequate moderation of content in the messenger and response to complaints became the reason for the detention of Telegram founder Pavel Durov in Paris. The entrepreneur rejected the charges, emphasizing that he and his resource cannot be held responsible for the unfair use of the platform.

However, Durov soon announced his readiness to disclose IP addresses and phone numbers of those users who violate the rules to law enforcement agencies based on justified legal requests.
