French authorities deport Osama bin Laden's son

The French authorities have deported Osama bin Laden's eldest son Omar from the country. Head of the French Ministry of Internal Affairs Bruno Retaillo announced this on his page on the X social network.

According to him, Bin Laden, who lived for several years in the Orne department (Normandy region) as the husband of a British citizen, posted "comments glorifying terrorism" on his social networks in 2023. "For this reason, the prefect of Orne issued a decree on his mandatory departure from French territory (OQTF)," Retaillo explained, adding that the courts confirmed the legality of this decision that was "adopted in the interests of national security."

As noted, the administrative ban on entry "guarantees the impossibility of Mr. bin Laden's return to France for any reason." Citing the local publication Le Publicateur Libre, Reuters writes that bin Laden attracted the attention of the French authorities with a post on social media dedicated to his father's birthday.

The founder and leader of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda Osama bin Laden was eliminated in May 2011 in his hideout in Pakistan.
