Iraqi security forces have eliminated one of the leaders of the Islamic State terrorist group operating in the Salah ad-Din province, located in the northern part of the country. This was reported by TASS with reference to the Iraqi INA news agency.

As noted in the statement of the Joint Operations Command, "following an attack by the Iraqi Air Force, four bodies of terrorists who were part of ISIS were found in one of the areas of Salah ad-Din." During the process of identifying the bodies, it turned out that one of the eliminated persons was Abu Omar al-Qurayshi, who "the ISIS supporters referred to as the "governor of Salah ad-Din province."

During the ground operation that followed the airstrike on the terrorists' hideout, "three suicide belts, several units of small arms and ammunition, and night vision devices" were found at the place where al-Qurayshi and several militants were hiding.
