The National Anti-Terrorism Committee reported that 23 terrorist crimes were prevented in the North Caucasus Federal District in 2024, and five militant cells were uncovered.

“In 2024, six terrorist attacks were committed in the North Caucasus Federal District, whereas 23 terrorist crimes were prevented. The activities of five terrorist cells were stopped in the North Caucasus,” the committee reported following the results of the National Antri-Terrorism Committee (NAC) meeting held on Tuesday under the leadership of the FSB director.

Also, according to the NAC, more than 200 persons involved in terrorist activities were detained in the North Caucasus Federal District during this period.
