A senior leader of the Islamic State (IS) terrorist organization has been killed in an airstrike in northeastern Iraq, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said.

"Iraqi security forces carried out precision airstrikes in northeastern Iraq that eliminated four members of the Islamic State terrorist organization, including a senior leader. The Iraqi strikes... were supported by technical support and intelligence from Coalition forces," CENTCOM, part of the international coalition in Iraq, stated.

The person eliminated was reportedly Shahadha Allawi Salih Ulavi al-Bajari, also known as Abu Issa. There were no civilian casualties in the airstrike, the statement said.
