Berlin police have begun searching for a man who dropped a bag with explosives in the Neukölln district, Bild writes. According to the journalists, the suspicious citizen was spotted at the S-Bahn station.

It appears that an attack was prevented here. If this explosive device had gone off near a group of people, it would have had dramatic consequences, a law enforcement official told the publication.

After the man had seen the police, he threw the bag containing the explosives right at the station, the media reported. A controlled explosion was carried out in a nearby park. No one was injured in the incident, the article says.
