The Ministry of Internal Affairs, established by the radical Taliban movement that controls Afghanistan, has issued a decree banning the storage and carrying of weapons and ammunition without a special permit. This was stated in a message posted on the ministry’s page in X (formerly Twitter).

According to the statement, the decree will apply to "all officials, mujahideen, employees and ordinary citizens of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan." An exception will be made for persons who have received a special license from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
