The FBI has arrested 24-year-old white supremacist Skyler Phillippi for plotting to blow up a Nashville power plant. He faces life in prison, the Justice Department said.

“Skyler Phillippi, a white supremacist committed to destroying our critical infrastructure, planned to attack Nashville’s power grid with a drone carrying an explosive device. Due to the efforts of the FBI, his plan was foiled,” said Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco.

The FBI had been monitoring Phillippi for months, and undercover officers went with him to purchase the materials needed to build an improvised explosive device. The FBI learned of his plans from sources. Phillippi was arrested shortly before he launched his drone to attack the power plant.

Before the attack, on November 2, Filippi took part in rituals that included "reciting a Norse prayer and discussing the Norse god Odin," the Justice Department said.
