German police arrest teenager plotting Christmas attack

German police have prevented a terrorist attack in Elmshorn (Schleswig-Holstein), which was being plotted by a 17-year-old teenager of German-Turkish origin, the Bild newspaper reports.

The teenager has been detained by German security services.

According to information provided by law enforcement agencies, the teenager wanted to use a truck for a “targeted murder at a Christmas market.” This became known after the disclosure of telephone conversations and his personal messages.
