A young man from the Nurabad district of the Samarkand region was sentenced to three years in prison for posting religious songs with extremist content on Telegram.

According to the Sevimli TV channel, the 19-year-old defendant uploaded five nasheed songs spreading radical narratives to the group he created over the course of a year and a half.

At the court hearing, he indicated that he did not know Arabic and did not understand the meaning of the songs, but posted them in the group because he liked the melodies.

The court found the person guilty and sentenced him to three years in prison.
