ISIS claims responsibility for Kabul bombing

Islamic State (IS) terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the explosion in Kabul that killed Afghan Minister of Refugees and Repatriates Khalil Ur-Rahman Haqqani, Agence France-Presse reports, citing the SITE Intelligence Group, which tracks the online activity of radical groups.

According to Afghan media, Haqqani was killed on Wednesday in a suicide bombing on the premises of the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriates. According to preliminary information, he was killed by a suicide bomber while heading from the main building to pray in the mosque at the ministry. Several other people were killed along with the official, and many others were injured.

"The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing that killed Afghanistan's Minister of Refugees in his office in Kabul," the agency reports.

As noted, Afghan authorities had previously accused the group of this attack.
