Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein said ISIS was rebuilding its capabilities by seizing weapons left behind by the collapse of the Syrian army and abandoned military warehouses.

Tasnim News Agency reports that, according to the minister, this had allowed the terrorist group to expand its territorial control.

According to a statement from the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, Fuad Hussein made the warning during a phone call with Hamish Falconer, the UK Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa.

He expressed concern about the dangers posed by ISIS prison escapes and worsening conditions in the Al-Hol camp in Syria. “The deterioration of the situation could directly affect security in both Syria and Iraq,” Hussein said.
