A large-scale operation to detain individuals suspected of involvement in the ISIS terrorist organization has been carried out in 17 provinces of Turkey.

According to AZERTAC, 42 suspects have been detained over the past week as part of the operation codenamed GÜRZ-35.

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya wrote on social media that the operation covered, inter alia, the provinces of Ankara, Bursa, Gaziantep, Istanbul, Diyarbakir, Kahramanmaraş and Kayseri.

The actions of law enforcement officers were coordinated with the prosecutor's office.

The detainees are accused of financing terrorist organizations and promoting banned narratives on social media.
