Kurds repel attacks by pro-Turkish forces in northern Syria

Kurdish troops of the "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF) repelled a series of attacks by the "Syrian National Army" (SNA) supported by Turkey in the Manbij region in the north-east of Aleppo province on Wednesday, 37 militants were killed, the SDF press service said in a statement.

"Heavy fighting lasted from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ... the bodies of 37 mercenaries were found and left there. Another four were wounded in the fighting. A tank and five units of military equipment were destroyed as well," the statement said.

According to the communique, the SNA militants' offensive was supported by Turkish combat aircraft and drones.

Six fighters were killed and nine were wounded among the Kurdish units during the clashes.
