The leader of the "new Syrian authorities" Ahmed al-Sharaa will pay his first foreign visit to Turkey. It may take place in the shortest time possible, the Yeni Şafak newspaper reports.

According to the media, the visit was supposed to take place in the coming days, but was postponed due to changes in the program. During the visit, al-Sharaa is expected to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who the leader of the "new Syrian authorities" intends to thank for his support in overthrowing the Bashar al-Assad administration, according to the newspaper,

Yeni Şafak recalls that the first foreign representative to visit Damascus after the opposition came to power in Syria was the head of the Turkish intelligence service Ibrahim Kalin. After him, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan visited the capital of Syria.
