The Free Syrian Army (FSA), supported by Turkey, has deployed heavy weapons to the contact line with Kurdish armed formations in Syria in preparation for a possible military operation. This was reported by the Türkiye newspaper, noting that the Turkish army is also considering the option of a military settlement of the conflict with the Kurds.

The FSA has strengthened its positions in a number of areas in the governorates of Aleppo, Hasakah and Raqqa. The command of the Free Syrian Army indicated that it has strengthened its units in these regions, which are now on full combat readiness. Armored vehicles and additional personnel have been deployed to the contact zone.

Turkiye is not currently preparing for a direct military operation against Kurdish troops in Syria but is not removing this option from the agenda. Türkiye media writes that the leadership of the Turkish Ministry of Defense and General Staff previously inspected the units of the armed forces and special forces serving in the regions bordering Syria. These troops will be involved if the decision to conduct a military operation is made.
