Syria's new defense minister Murhaf Abu Kasra said on Sunday that it would be wrong for U.S.-backed Kurdish fighters based in the northeast to maintain their own bloc within a wider integrated Syrian military, Reuters reported. 

Speaking to Reuters at the defense ministry venue in Damascus, Kasra said the head of the Kurdish group known as the Syrian Democratic Forces was dragging his feet on the difficult issue.
