The US Department of Defense is developing a plan for the complete withdrawal of all American troops from Syria. This was reported by NBC television company, citing two American officials.

According to them, US President Donald Trump and representatives of the Washington administration close to him recently expressed interest in a complete withdrawal of troops from Syria. In this regard, the Pentagon began preparing plans to implement this step within 30, 60 or 90 days’ period.

Earlier, Trump, answering questions from journalists at the White House, said that Washington should not deal with the issues of Syria. According to him, the US administration will decide on the possibility of withdrawing American troops from the Syrian Arab Republic.

As reported by the state television and radio company Kan, high-ranking American officials made it clear to Israeli representatives that Trump is interested in the withdrawal of US troops remaining on Syrian territory. The Pentagon stated in December 2024 that there are about two thousand American troops in Syria.
