Some of the PKK militants to leave Syria, media reports
Some of the militants of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), banned in Turkey, will leave Syria in accordance with an agreement with the United States, the Turkish pro-government newspaper Türkiye writes, citing sources in the region.
Ankara is prepared for the situation that could arise as a result of the US withdrawal from Syria, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said earlier.
"While the Pentagon is making plans to leave the country (Syria), according to the intelligence we received from field sources, at a meeting between the US and the PKK/PYD, which is supported by the US, it was decided that the terrorist organization, numbering 10,000 people, would leave Syria. It was stated that the terrorists agreed to take heavy weapons with them to Iraq," the publication writes.
