A criminal case has been opened against a foreigner in Tatarstan. He is accused of promoting terrorism, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Tatarstan reported.

According to investigators, in 2023, a foreigner who was staying in Russia illegally published videos in one of the messengers showing people training in clothes typical of supporters of terrorist groups. He also repeatedly posted a monologue of a certain person. A psychological and linguistic forensic examination confirmed elements of jihadist narratives.

The accused is currently in custody, a criminal case has been opened, and the materials have been sent to court for consideration.
