The Somali Armed Forces have eliminated more than 70 al-Shabaab terrorists in a series of airstrikes and ground operations in the Hiraan and Middle Shebelle regions. This was stated in a press release by the Somali Information Ministry, posted in X media, TASS reports.

"More than 70 extremists were eliminated due to the coordinated actions of the national army and local militias," the document states. "In addition to inflicting significant damage on the group’s personnel, a large consignment of weapons was recovered from them."

Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud promised to wage an "all-out" war against al-Shabaab. The national army is supported by local militias and African Union troops.
