The Taliban, the radical movement in power in Afghanistan, said that the country will from now on refuse to participate in the Rome Statute and will not recognize the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court (ICC). 

According to the statement, "instead of adhering to the principles of justice and impartiality, the ICC consistently acts based on political considerations." This organization "has not taken any significant measures regarding the war crimes committed in Afghanistan by the occupation forces and their allies," the Taliban states.
