US President Donald Trump claimed that the US military eliminated a leader of the Al Qaeda terrorist group in Syria over the weekend.

"US forces carried out a precision airstrike on an Al Qaeda member in Syria. The terrorist leader was working with Al Qaeda throughout the region," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

According to US Central Command, a leader of the Al Qaeda-linked Hurras al-Din organization was killed in a strike on February 15 in northwestern Syria. He was responsible for financing and logistics for the group, the report said.
